How can a person find out that you are there when you have not written a word after the first post. Now that you have replied, that is good. Everyone knows that you have read the responses.
A kind request. Think about the question I am writing.
What do you think we should be doing at this site? What is the objective of this site? Is everyone being part of that objective? What would be a constructive post to be a part of objective? What effort people have put toward the objective?
Well, I am not annonymous and not ran away :). I read all the posts here and having a sense of "belonging". And the word "helpless" comes to mind.

I have mulled over different options in my head for a long time. Here are some things I came up with:
- switch to a part time H1 (and do something else in your free time that you might find a little more fulfilling, i.e enrolling in PT grad program, starting a business (which you CAN do on an H1!!!), travel!!). I know there is the money factor but most of us are IT people and hopefully taking a cut will be worth the improved life.
- begin your Canadian PR process. This takes a lot less time and honestly, I think Canadians are more cultured anyway. Leave these people to their Paris and Nicoles :)

When USCIS says that they have made arrangements to forward the flowers to somewhere else, is it possible that the flowers be directly routed to the war veterans hospital instead of reaching the USCIS building first? They being government bodies, can they directly route the flowers without arriving at USCIS? Just a thought..

However, a substantial discrepancy between the previous and the new wage may be taken into consideration as a factor in determining if the new employment is “same or similar.”
Pls note that with current recession/depression, the "prevailing wages" for same/similar occupations have gone down--drastically in some cases (esp. IT). Also, you could open/register your LLC (by spending $400) for your self-employment to sound more "legitimate"--but that's certainly not a requirement.

I can tell you there are roughly 100,000 labor applications filed (50,000 EB3) between Aug 2003 and Dec 2003 for EB India category. The reason was everybody wanted to clear thru regular process before PERM takes over. Those Labors filed after Aug 2003 and before PERM started are moved into backlog and are fully cleary last 4 th quarter. And so 90% of those EB3s may be still there (45,000) hanging. EB2s could have been cleared substantially till Dec 2003. It is all my guess work and not sceintific or factual. it is vague and could as well be inaccurate. I know that lot of people from georgia did get their GC's in EB3 with pd ..dec 2003. I am guessing that for many states the dates are similar except for california and NY ..but then there were lot of companies that closed down ..ofcourse labor subs changed things too for the worse. also 19000 visas went to eb3 I ..last year I think. so overall numbers may not be that high till 2004 mid I guess

Now just see the pattern, the moment we start talking about donation and volunteering .. the guys sitting on the sidelines distracting and demotivating , stopped being part of the conversation. It already does, if you have an approved I-140 based on your LC.
with LC sitting in BEC for 5 years or more it does not. There are many many people I know whose PD could not be recaptured because of the insane amount of time LC certifications used to take. With PERM its a 5 month + 15 day (if I-140 PP is restored) thing; in my time (gosh I feel like an oldtimer now) it was a 4-5 YEAR wait for LC, then another year for I-140 (as there was no PP). And in 2001-2003 not all companies that sponsored LCs survived to see what came out of that process, and the sponsored employees were left with nothing.
